Engine check light - code 23
Just put my 99 UK spec back on the road after being SORNed for 4 weeks.
The engine check light is on and I'm getting code 23 which I believe is a MAF fault.
Any thoughts on why this would throw up a fault after sitting for 4 weeks?
Tried cleaning it last night but no luck.
The idle speed fluctuates more than normal but it's not cutting out. Could this be related to the IACV?
Any advice would be great before I start replacing sensors.

code 23 is the MAF and cleaning it doesn't normally work
It's more than likely a coincidence that it's been parked up and they are known to fail. You haven't just added an induction kit or something have you?

No Mate, It's still running an air box with Do-luck panel filter.
I'll try and find a replacement MAF sensor and hope for the best.
Frustrating that things can malfunction when the car isn't even moving!
