Short answer?
For a reliable 500bhp including engine rebuild, 6 speed gearbox, brakes, turbo, etc. I'd say probably anywhere between £13-17,000 if you're paying someone to do it for you.

Say £2k for a 6 speed, £2k for a turbo, £5k for an engine rebuild, £1000 for an ECU then all the other bits like hoses, exhaust, induction kit, intercooler, headers.
And then labour. Those are all very finger in the air prices and based on new parts.

Obviously if you buy parts like the turbo, intercooler, exhaust etc second hand you can save quite a considerable amount in that area but unless you know your stuff I'm assuming the engine rebuild and 6 speed fitting would be left to a specialist.

HTH

Hello guys,

My GC8 is already a 6-Speed the previous owner had changed it. And plus iv already bought 4pot used Brembos off ebay.

I have a freind who is a specialist mechanic so probably he'll do it for me for free basically coz were close freinds.

So now i would like to know exactly what ill need like which turbo ,ecu etc

Cheers

I did wonder, but I guess it depends who you go to - RCM would probably be the daddies of the bunch, and I'm sure in their case my figure would be way out!!

Stick a v7 jdm short motor in there, either mdx321t, sc42/46 or something similar, fmic, injectors, 3" exhaust, fuel pump, 3 port boost solenoid and uprated filter and cold air feed, that should see you 450+ on the right set up, bearing in mind that's a stock bottom end so much over that and your on the edge of known reliability, that's the cost effective way.

Want a solid forged motor which is rated to 500+ and your talking a few quid.

If you want a "safe" 500+ rated bottom end, I'd say budget a minimum of 5k basic for starters and that's without anything else to go with it, and then you may want to consider head work, valve train etc list goes on and can quickly become a money pit, if you got the cash or a friendly bank manager then go for it
