thats right, its the stock TD04. Its reached its potential for the stock Turbo, anymore power, will require STi VF35 /Pink 550cc Injectors/STi Intercooler/followed by a Map Tweak.

thumbs up to Andrew Carr, did a top job!

Lovely he's taken care of my car over the years too, when I had td04 it made 301 with 310torque, but the torque on yours is excellent, must be down to the ported headers

I'm assuming it's 1.4 as he sets that on mine all the time

Managed to get boost to 1.4/1.5 Bar Max.

But the big difference is how smooth it now runs, 2nd and 3rd gears pulls like a train.

Best thing about td04 when mapped is, there is no lag and just boosts very quick but then just goes flat on top end and tail off, I'm now on vf34 and just keeps pulling on top end

Looks like a really good result. You must be well pleased. Going to get my 05 Wrx blob done next year, but not fully decated as will fit a prodrive sports cat down pipe but will decat the centre and uppipe. so won't get quite as high bhp and torque as your beast :-)

thanks,
the best way I managed to make contact with him, was via email.
you email him, then text him to say you have emailed him, iyswim.
he may not reply straightaway, may take a good 4/5 days before he does, but he does, I have met him, and his a down to earth bloke, knows his stuff. i also love the popping from the exhaust he has set up when over 2500rpm.

the mapping has allowed me to hold it in second and third gear for sometime before the need to change up, it feels like it wants more and more through the rev range.

The later ecus on the blobs can take a bit more to achieve them figures, to a safe standard of course, I remember when I put my figures out at 301 got nothing but negative comments until posted my graph and still go the odd comment
So I don't bother anymore as I've nothing to prove

Its not really the ecu that enables the power increase mate , it's more the physical capabilities of the turbo

Well that's what I was told so not 100% the 05 ecu are a bit different.

They may run a different map to a bug , but that said some standard bugs year to year come with different maps ( from factory )
Nothing to be gained power wise from a bug ecu to a blob

the above graph shows an old map, carried out by DUNCAN from RaceDynamix, this is when I had stock Down-pipe & Up-pipe both with CAT, and headers had not been ported and there was no heat wrap on any part of the exhaust.

It gives a good comparison from then to what Andrew Carr achieved a week ago.
Duncan did the map on Dyno @ ScoobyClinic, whereas Andrew's was Live Road Mapping.

And a cracking result that was Waseem when we did that 277 still with 2 cats in the system was very pleasing.

Interesting to see what a proper dyno will show it as now - take it up to Scoobyclinic to get a proper back to back as road dyno figures are notoriusly inaccurate and open to mistakes.

hi Duncan, from your experience, looking at the graph, do you see anything that you probably would have done better had you been mapping the car, for example, the way in which the Torque/Bhp climb sharply and then tail off be acceptable by your standards ? is it something you would have produced yourself ?

sorry not hiding just working as very busy at the moment.

Road dynos are notoriously innacurate, get the exact weight of the car, occupants, fuel level, misc bits in there wrong and it will skew the figures, let alone looking at whether the road is actually flat, there is no wind in either direction, how much the car has been lowered to reduce wind resistance, drag etc etc and the results from road dynos just cant be compared with those of proper rollers.

As such it is very difficult to compare apples with pears - get the car back on scoobyclinic dyno and see what that shows figures wise and graphs shape but it does look like it would be unusual to drive with that big boost surge then power dropping off then going back up again.

Nice figures considering standard turbo etc.

I'm in the same boat - with a 05 WRX and wanting a bit more power.

Just wondering - What setup ECU wise do you have? Is it a custom ECU or open source? How much did you pay for mapping etc? Pm me if you want to keep it off the thread
