No absolute need to re-map as the DENSO ECU will compensate for the change. There will be no increase in BHP though as the ECU will go along it's merry way. Might have a slightly better spool up.

why are you changing?

Will def require remapping, it will overboost when swapping OEM downpipe for sportscat downpipe.

Thanks for replies, was wondering if it would be possible to do it for abit more exhaust note without changing bb,and didnt realy think i will benefit from a remap as i dont do track days or boot it much and its used as a daily drive by my weife, but yes it does have its legs stretched now and again. If it was mapped is it better with Ecutek or Open Source ?.

If you are just after a better sound then a bb is easier to fit and doesnt require a remap.

Thanks again for the advice, always decisions which way to go,but keeping car for a while anyway so prob opt for downpipe and open source, abit more money but feel going forwards than backwards changing bb again. Cheers Dave.

Not sure that overboosting will be a problem with the TD04L ........changing exhausts on the VF35/30 on the STi could lead to boost spikes though. Ask John Banks LOL
