Hi all

I have fault code P0011 - 'A' camshaft position - Performance Bank 1 on my 2006 WRX 2.5

For camshaft position sensor replacement - is bank 'A' on the drivers side or passenger side?

Bank 1 - RHS
Bank 2 - LHS

You have highlighted the Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve assy........are you suggesting the fault is with this rather than the Camshaft Position Sensor at the back of the engine?

So the fault is not the actual position sensor itself?......more the fault is being picked up by the position sensor but is caused by something else?

I have already replaced the oil and filter and the fault returned after 30 mins of driving!

I note the Subaru guidance is to replace the oil twice and the filter on the second oil change.

Maybe I should replace the oil again?

 

The diagram was to highlight which is Bank1 and Bank2 and was plucked from the web. (Rest relates to later engine in the BRZ/GT86).
Your vehicle has AVCS on the inlet cams - hence the need to change the oil and flush out the AVCS actuator(s) in the cam pulley(s).
