Default Lamba sensor

hi,

my cars thrown up a p0171 fault code on my car this morning. it’s the 2nd time it’s thrown this up since Friday so I’m gonna replace the lambda sensor. Can anyone tell me whether the lambda sensor never changed between 2001 and 2010 as you be been offered 1 and this is what he’s told me. I own a 2008 hatch.

Cheers

Once again there are Hatches and hatches - yours is a WRX Hatch
There are also two lambda sensors, one an A/F sensor and the other an oxygen sensor which one are you going to replace?.

P0171-2 are mainly due to leaks or other problems not related to the above sensors

ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS)(H4DOTC) > Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
DTC P0171 SYSTEM TOO LEAN (BANK 1)
Refer to DTC P0172 for diagnostic procedure.

im waiting for a friend to plug his laptop in so I can get a bit more information about which sensor it is but my mapper believes it’s the 02 sensor on the underside of the engine.

But the code it come up with after using the old turn off lights press button method was p0171 which I believe means it’s running too lean.

And I’m not having problems with rough idling or the car cutting out also.
