Stage 1 Remap WRX
Alright lads,
I'm booked in for a remap on my WRX at BTG Performance, they reckon that they can increase BHP by 40-45 and 80NM torque, is this a realistic figure to be expecting?
It's a Prodrive WRX, Blitz exhaust system but not full decat, HKS Intake and HKS Bov. RCM fuel pump. Injectors are original, will they need changing before remap or could they handle the extra? I've been looking at the STI pink injectors unless anyone can recommend anything better? And in general is there anything I should be looking to change to make the most of it?
Thanks for any advice.

When you say it's a Prodrive WRX, do you mean it has the Prodrive Performance Pack fitted?
If so, it already has 250-260Bhp. You won't get much more than 280bhp out of the standard turbo. If it hasn't got PPP, then 40-45bhp is reasonable from a remap with those mods (which would be the same as PPP).
De-cat uppipe plus Sports cat downpipe gives the biggest gains. Uprated fuel pump and better air filter will see you towards 280bhp, which is about as said, is about as far as the stock TD04 turbo wilst still being cost effective.

In my experience the estimated 250-260 with the ppp is a tad optimistic.
The wife's ppp which has had a further map still only produces less than the quoted 260, which according to Prodrive is at 1.1 bar.
Most importantly you want it running well regardless of what the figures are. Different dyno's will give different numbers but how the car runs and the afr's are what's important.

When i had my wrx (non ppp) remapped by Andy Carr it went from 250 to 286 bhp. And a torque increase to 359 ifFtL .This was with a sports cat exhaust, fuel pump and panel filter.
You wont see more than 290 without a bigger turbo.
