Default Romraider connection

Hi,I've got as far as having all the parameters on the logger but when I plug car in,I've no idea how to connect to the ecu?
The com port tab at the top won't let me put anything in.
I've downloaded ecu definitions and logger car definitions but unsure where to put them.
Should it auto connect or am I doing something wrong.
Cheers.
Justin

It says" cars definition not found. Go online to download latest definition file?"
I've downloaded it.
Then it says "missing cars_Def.xml file from the installation or profiles or definitions directory."
I've also downloaded this file and there all stored in the program file of romraider?

Have you told Romraider where to look for them ?
The Romraider site explains how to install and set it up.

Default Headache

I'm about ready to throw the towel in on this install.
I've downloaded all the ecu definitions, including. Xml and. Dtd or whatever they are.
I've tried putting them all in different places but still get the same message over and over again about not having the car definitions.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide?

Mate, I was trying to do this a couple weeks ago and had exactly the same issue, gave up in the end.

The instructions make it look simple, in actual fact it never worked following them.

I thought I was getting somewhere,as it said connecting on the screen, but said at the bottom, "can't send ecu init"
I'm not overly computer savvy but nearly always get there in the end,but this is so frustrating.

you can store the files in one folder, have you used the Manager to tell Romraider where to find these files ??

Yes,did that.
I've done it now.
I needed to close romraider completely before trying to connect to ecu.
So laptop plugged into car then open romraider from fresh and then it worked.
I was trying to connect with romraider already open.
