After new cam belt engine managemnet light is on
Hi every one,
Im new to the scene , and i bought my first scooby about three months ago,
its a 2003 Blobeye,,pretty standard, only thing is it has been re mapped and now she's doing 283 bhp,,very happy with the car and really enjoying her..
My problem is last week we changed the cam belt and after driving for about an hour engine management light is on, we have checked this on engine diagnostic and its not showing any errors, any codes at all, but we still clear the codes if any thing on there to see what's happening, after doing that engine management light is gone,,, was well happy,,,,
next day its on again and still its on ,,,,
i do not have any misfire, or loss of power, car is not on limp mode, still can be drive as normal and have full power ,,,,
engine management light is on all the time ,
is this any thing to do with the cam belt changing ?
does this happend to any one out there?
any suggestions ???
many thanx

Apart from looking for the obvious loose plugs etc, I'd be checking the cam timing, it could be a tooth out which would throw the cam and crank sensor phases out and bring the eml on (some scanners won't pick up on this) or at least get it scanned with a decent diagnostic machine.
