RCM rotated kit just landed in my garage, thx to a friend
planning to start working on the car this week
not yet sure what else is needed for the set up to work but so far it is:
2.35 forged block
stock single AVCS JDM heads
850 injectors
Aeromotive fuel pump (no FPR)
3 port solenoid
OEM ECU with EcuTek
will install FMIC with the rotated kit
the turbo is GT3082 .70 a/r anti-surge comp. T3 4 bolt .82 a/r exh. housings
few things are unclear yet
FMIC piping is without a BOV flange
no MAF option on the inherited set up, MAP possible on stock ECU? or maybe big MAF tube suggestion?
Injectors are sitting on stock fuel rails, fuel rails a necessity?
considering heads are stock, and I really wouldn't want to take them off, but are bigger cams crucial here?
yes you can run without maf on the stock ECU - but what kind of power are you hoping to make? The 3082 has big potential if your looking to hit 500hp then an aftermarket ECU would probably be easier to get setup.
The JDM heads would probably benefit from springs/retainers/cams to get the rev limit up a touch and really make the most of it.

I realize it is 500+ unit
i though never intended or set target to go over the magic number
I have no expirinece with this unit, from the first glance It seemed logical to change to modern GTX GT30 with smaller compressor housing
looking at my parts, any advice?

Peak power, I'd imagine , will be well within your current rev range. What you need is a competent mapper to make it work. In your position I would invest in Syvecs and a quality fuel regulator. Expensive but worth the investment. Your current heads and cams are well capable of 500.

You will want wild cams, and over sized valves etc, it will make it much more drivable with a better power band....
Having gone through this exact scenario you will only wish you had done it properly the first time round...
And a fuel regulator will be needed, but if you intend to use your 500hp you will also need a swirl pot and external pumps etc,,....
I really don't feel like taking of the heads at the moment, will defo come to this point in the future, same goes for the ECU
I am wondering if I can use this kit now, but without the above
maybe if I install a smaller cartridge in the housings I have got, I can get to 450-500 and simply save this cartidge for when the time is right

garret cartridges can be swapped usually no problem

Very easy to overspec and throw thousands at this for very little bang for buck. Neither swirl pot or external pump required at that level for road use. Having built more than one 500 bhp Impreza I know the pitfalls , Ive seen the expensive over specced cars usually for sale or for breaking a short time after completion because the owners overspent in area's not required for the application.
Even road use you will want a swirl pot, if you dont manage to get fuel starvation on cornering, you arent driving it properly......! Even standrd vehicles will benefit from a swirl pot...
If you want to put a big turbo on an impreza you will want to increase the rev range, yes you CAN do it on standard, but having done it and now moving onto a proper specced engine the difference will be massive.... Do it once, do it right.
