Hi just had a look at my Ecu to check if it was a prodrive as previous owner fitted a turbo back ppp exhaust system. I have no idea if he/she had the Ecu remapped to suit the exhaust. Is it normal practice to have pen wrote on the Ecu?

No, id say its maybe a replacement ecu from a breakers.

Can't understand why someone would need to replace an ecu... but makes sense it's from a breakers.

Ecus can give trouble. Or a previous owner has had a different ecu in it and needed one from a breakers to put back in when selling it.

Yeah makes perfect sense. Is there a way I can find out if it's running the standard map by using ecuexplorer?

Generally a remap will Involve changing the boost target so if you log your target boost in romraider logger then compare it to the standard rom or post up the graph here it should give you a clue.

My wrx ecu has the exact same black pen on it, says 03 wrx ip...
In identical format!?

That's pretty strange could it be that both our ecus are not the original for our cars.?
