I have a 1995 gf8 impreza I reset ecu by disconnecting negative terminal on battery. It now has a rough idle with a shake sometimes is this normal? Also check engine light comes on after boosting then goes off when slowed right down or stopped. Can anyone help please

Sounds like possible MAF sensor has failed or is dirty, my MY2000 GF8 did the same a few years ago after disconnecting the battery...changed the MAF and all good.
You could try removing and cleaning the existing one very carefully with electrical contact cleaner and a cotton bud.
