sorry to both you guys again
what would the symptoms be for a failed egt
I did have the error code of p0546 which is the egt but with just getting the car I collected all the error codes before wiping them as I have just bought it thinking maybe there old ones..there is still no codes coming up but the cel has flashed a few times and its still running rough and misfiring could this be caused but a missing or broken egt???
anyone got an idea

Yeah that could be caused by the sensor either not reading correctly due to a de-cat or else it has just failed. People have done away with it by installing a 2.2K ohm resistor in its place.
