Default New to Subaru - Time to remap

Hi all,

I have just bought my first Impreza which is a 2007 Hawkeye WRX.

It is totally standard and I don't plan to change it too much as its a commuter car.

Just a simple air filter, exhaust (decat) and map will suffice.

I currently own a 650bhp Toyota Supra which I still run on a V1 AEM

I mapped this car myself after training on syvecs.

So...Please can I ask for some basic advice on where to start on these cars.

By the looks of it, the ECUTEK is a good place to start for a basic map?

What do I need to get going to map the car and start running some more power?

Thanks
Pig (Jon)

Hi Jon

Welcome to Scoobynet

If you know something about the mapping and about the aftermarket ECU(we are run Syvecs S6 on our wagon with 555.5bhp,now we are running Syvecs S6GP on the Civic Type R)

Good starting point will be getting Tactrix cable and SW,which I can recommend is EcuFlash and Romraider, both SW are free and should be good staring place

On Romraider forum are lots of good guides

EcuTek you can't map it,unless you are dealer for EcuTek and have their SW,you can map with above SW for free

Hope this help

Thanks,Jura

Hi Jura,

Thanks for the response. I bet 555bhp in one of these is a good laugh! Syvecs make for some great safety features.

Can you point me in the right direction for the best place to get a Tactrix cable? Cant believe they are so expensive and never seem to come up second hand!

Hi Jon

I've seen few of them as second hand, but usually they're snapped very quickly, usual price is around 160USD

Please have look on those links
