Hi All
A Scooby Newbie here! I am a 4X4 addict and usually drive a Hilux Surf. Recently got burned importing one and have switched to a Forester. Standard at the moment but aiming to get it tweaked!

I love it, go as much as possible each winter. Although did skip quite a bit last year with the bad weather. Just starting to get going for this season, bit late after the hot weather we had start of the month.

I can spit into the little ouse and great ouse from where I live and still don't manage to go. Have a boat, outboard, electric motor, fish finder etc. Used to be a complete pike addict. Have promised myself to take it up again soon. Really got into fly fishing for them in the summer too!

I dont really go that way too much as theres loads of fishing this way and the cost of fuel is a big consideration when planning a days fishing now. I do sometimes have the odd zander trip on the ouse though, had them to nearly 14 from the area near you.

Hi Ace and welcome
I went piking last Friday on the old river nene near me. Free to fish where I am, but didn't get anything. tbh though I didn't expect to. Still a bit weedy for my liking. Not done a lot of piking tbh as I am more a coarse fish man with the odd larger carp (if I'm lucky). But I did buy myself a spinning rod and multiplyer reel years ago to which I am still trying to get used to the reel I might get there at some decade

I use nothing but multipliers for lure fishing, much much better when you are constantly casting and retrieving. Does take a bit of practice to get used too though. Had braid on all my reels for years now, beats mono hands down for all my piking bait and lures. Absolute must for drifter fishing as well, can't see me changing back to mono any time really!

When I bought the multiplyer (John Wilson six shooter) I had it spooled up with braid. First day I used it and on the second cast it all fooked up
How the hell was I supposed to know that you stop the spool from spinning once the lure hit the water lol
Mind you, I did catch a Pike on the second cast
