Turbo mod on my96
#1
Several times i've read about the turbo of a my96 not being fitted optimal. If you turn something 90 degrees, you'll increase power. Can someone tell me exactly what to change, and what the gain is ?

Just read the diy fmic thread and found this.
Question: How did you remove the 90 degree angle on the turbo ? Looking at the pictures here its part of the turbo housing, was it expensive & what sort of gains is it worth with the TD5
Answer: Mark A, I've not removed it yet, when I do, the 90deg bend will be attacked with a hacksaw prior to a bit more detailed work on a milling machine.
The remaining inlet 'stub' can be machined to have a sleeve fitted to mount the inlet (75mm samco ?) hose on.
I can't imagine this being the right way
