I have a MY99 Impreza with PPP. If I was to change the Prodrive backbox with the HKS Hyper, will I get Pops and Bangs.

I have considered taking one of the CATS off, but not sure what implication it will have on the warranty.

Rang the warranty centre and they said it is OK to change the backbox.

Is the HKS louder than the Prodrive?

You won't get pops and bangs until the DP is decatted.

I've got the full HKS exhaust and only occasionally get bops and bangs. Done nothing else though so I'm hoping an air filter and DV will do the trick

Plantie,
I have the Power Engineering downpipe and mid section, with a Scoobysport back box but have always fancied a Blitz Nur spec back box (just because I like the style). I'm just a little concerned about the type of sound it might make. The other week I drove a P1 with HKS Hyper Titanium system and although it was very loud it had a tinny sound rather than the bassy rumble that I'm used to. I wondered if this is due to the single (unsilenced) tailpipe and if so the Blitz has the same tendancy.
Cheers.

Thumbs up

The Blitz comes with a removable baffle the size of your forearm...
So if you need it slightly quiter then no probs... 10mm Spanner and 20 seconds is that is required!

The Blitz is slightly deeper but is Louder than the Hiper. But ultimatley will sound different to the SS. Awesome is the word!

It is also a stainless steel product of exceptional quality, where as the Hiper is only Mild Steel. Some people have issues with Hipers after the first year (winter) etc.. white bits

I love the look of the Blitz... just not sure the neighbours will like it.

BUT I WILL

Plantie,

just out of interest, doesnt that fect that the HKS flows the most bother you?

Sound isnt going to be vastly different, but the HKS runs a much smoother path under the car, and for this reason it is the least restrictive. If you have a look at the dyno site you will see that all the top cars use the HKS, yet I have not seen one using the blitz.

Its nice to be different, but notat the expense of performance.

Try 5Zigen exhausts or the Apexi N1. I have a Hiper on my Integra Type-R and it sounds unbelievable!!!!!!
