Default GB270 - reverse gear

Hi all I am having problems some times getting the car to go into reverse gear.. any ideas please? It is ok some times but then others it can be a pain and always at times when I need it not to do this the most... I think I have a Sunday car me thinks... Will this be an expensive fix?

Thanks all yet again..!

are you fully stationary when it has difficulty, as dont think any syncro on reverse gear, but usually if gearbox shaft is stationary should go in easy, an old car of mine had a little clutch drag and this gave a slight problem engaging gears

I have the same problem on mine, just changed the gear oils and bled the clutch but its still the same. Next job is gearbox out and have a look at the clutch
I think its more clutch related than gearbox although Ive only done about 3k on this clutch.

I find by putting it into 2nd and then whilst keeping the clutch in move it into reverse it then goes in with no problem.

so changing the gear oil and the clutch fluid never did anything??? what is your next step? take it this means a more expensive repair?

The only option is to get the gearbox off and have a look at the clutch see if somethings gone on it.
The clutch has only been on 6 months so hopefully if its damaged it will come under warranty.

Does yours make any difference if you put it into 1st or 2nd then try putting it into reverse? For some reason this helps on mine.

I belive this is common issue, I sometimes get this, I had it before my new clutch to, so it's certainly not clutch I wouldn't worry about it, it's seriously not worth taking out your gear box etc
