K&N Oil filters?

K&N Oil filters?
Anyone had any experience with K&N oil filters?
Not wishing to start to whole "oil and filter" debate, as I know what oil I want and have done for quite some time. It's just I have seen these cheaper than the Subaru OE and STi Pink filters.
They also come with a nut shape on the bottom for ease of removal when it's few months of use are up.

Hi
We tend to fit these when we do our servicing. Good quality parts (as most K&N is).
The HP-1008 fits all model Impreza Turbos as it is the smaller capacity one as per the revised Subaru item.
The HP-1015 fits Classic and Bugeye models as it is the larger capacity one and catches the manifold on the Blobeye and later models.
Both part numbers in stock, cheap as chips!!
Thanks

So for a JDM V3 STi you'd fit a HP-1015?

Mine came with a free magnetic drain plug for £14.95. Bargain really .
Anyone else want the details?

I wouldn't use the drain plug unless its a dimple plug. The othrs aren't powerful enough and catch lots of swarf till te magnets not strong enough to hold on any more letting go of vast amounts that can cause issues. A small amount of swarf in a large amount of oil wont causeto much problem. On the other hand a magnet letting go of a larger amount can so smetime your better t have no magnetic drain plug.
