Question

Having now had it confirmed that i have 'heavy; piston slap in my 98 Sport, 59K, and Subaru UK dont want to know, is my only or best option to let my local dealership repair the car or are there any subaru specialists around the Kent area who would carry out the repair for a little less money than what subaru want, Or am i stepping into strange/dangerous territory??

Comments would be greatly recieved

Does it have a Subaru warranty ?
My 97MY was diagnosed by a dealer without any probs.
I took my car in for a service, mentioned a slight 'knocking' noise and they said it was 'piston slap/knock'.

Hope this helps

Plantie, I am not sure if Steve 'Monkey' Lawson is still doing this sort of thing. Dont think Mr.BMW would like it.
