Wrong

The UK TY754VN boxes use a 3.54 rear diff which has a final drive of 3.9 but 1:1.1 drop gears which gives the rear diff ratio of 3.54.

The TY752 VN boxes seem to have a final drive of 4.11 with 1:1 drop gears which will give a rear diff ratio of 4.11.

I take it that its def a TY752 and not TY754?

The only other ways to find out are to drop the rear diff out and check the ratio which is stamped on the crown wheel. Or with the car on axle stands or ramp mark one of the rear wheels at the 12 oclock posn and also mark the prop to diff flange at 12 oclock. Turn the prop and count how many turns it takes for the wheel to do one complete revolution, should be accurate enough to tell.

thanks for that arch as im swapping to a 754 tommorow, looks like im gonna have to do the diff and box together ,i was under the impresion that all uk rears were same and i might get away with only the box,was gonna drop the cover off and count teeth ie 39/11

The TY754VN1AA uses a 3.54 rear diff and yess should be 39:11 will be stamped on the crown wheel. Had this when I used a TY754VN4AA box on a 2.0 CDB. If i remember right the top outer bolt for the starter does not have the hole in the block so you cant use the long bolt, so I tapped the gearbox and put a stud into it and used a nut to secure the starter on that hole.
