came off the dual carridgeway earlier after about an hours driving and noticed a lack of power but put it down to heat build up, so, i spent a couple of hours fiddling with my front bumper (mesh etc etc) and then took the car out after admiring my handywork, only to find that there was still a lack of power, i had a look at my boost gauge and saw that the boost reading is only peaking at 6-7 psi instead of a normal level of 11 psi, can anyone give me any ideas as to what may have happened??? before i have to go and spend my life savings at the garage!!!!
thanks people,
Rob

Check for leaks between the turbo and the throttle body (maybe a loose pipe or something).
You could be venting charged air to atmosphere which would keep your psi pressure down

can i disconnect the solenoid altogether by running the actuator straight to the manifold?? this would make any solenoid problem show as it would confirm the boost level????

i have just read the faq and i may be getting a bit overexited for nothing BUT i have just changed the oil and filter and one of the causes of the solenoid block is "after a service" time to get the torch out!!!!!
thanks a lot

Take each one of the hoses off at both ends, do one at a time so you dont get them muxed ip
Spray the brake cleaner into the hose 'til it runs clear.
I reckon that will do ya, but check your engine oil level.
Good luck,MD.

I lost ALL boost on the track at Bedford on Saturday, this was accompanied by a rattling noise which has occurred once before (after the track session at Prodrive Live). What we established on Sat was that the link between the wastegate and the acctuator was jamming open when the engine gets hot, letting gasses straight through? Once it had cooled down it was OK. Maybe worth checking that is moving freely.
