Default Urgent clutch fitting help

Hi,

I'm about to drop my engine back in my car, I've fitted a new exedy clutch, I've been following this guide here:

http://wac.addr.com/auto/obs/clutch/clutch2.html

It says "Remove the old release bearing from the actuator fork on the transmission side (picture missing). There is a small steel retaining clip on each side that secures the release bearing. Install the new release bearing, and secure using the retaining clips."

When I removed my old release bearing, I never noticed any clips holding it on, do I need clips when fitting the new release bearing?

Any info would be great,

Thanks
Ross

It depends if you have a push or pull clutch, only pull clutches have the wire clip holding the bearing on.

If you want to make life slightly easier the dowels on the engine make a slight point on them so they self alighn and save you getting stressed

Could you elabortae on that? I was struggling to get the dowels to push into the gearbox because the angle I had them at was a bit dodgy
