Turbo 2000 Diff swap - which one?

After having a nightmare trying to fit a 2004 UK WRX Diff to my 98 Turbo 2000 today i need to find a diff that will fit. The 04 one has a bar though the middle of it so the drivers side drivshaft doesn't slot all the way in.

Can anyone help?
