Default im a girl and know nothing about diff so please help

I have a 2002 52 plate bugeye scooby, not long had it and now its whining, been told by my good local garage thats its the diff singing away, so need a new/recon one, so is there anything i need to know when ringing around or does any body know where i can get one and have it delivered or pick up from nr cambridge suffolk.

there's a few breakers on Ebay that sell diffs, have a look on there. I just picked one up from a guy on my local scooby forum for £100

just be careful as they say,you get what you pay for,dont always go for the cheaper one,make sure its a reputal place etc with a warranty if paying £150-£200 etc

nothing worse than going to all that trouble removing/refitting to have a worse box/diff

I now have one sorted from a local scooby breakers in norwich and have 1 months warranty, cost me £150 so once ive fitted it and scooby is running fine ill take some pics of me and my lil scoobs for all you guys to see my car, ha thats a joke, you all just wanna c me dont ya, lol!! xx

good,with a 1 mth warranty it should be a good one,make sure you use the car lots in that 1 month motorway use as well to test it etc

just make sure it really is the diff & not a wheel bearing, mine was diagnosed as being the diff whining, but it turned out to be the rear wheel bearings. (they had zero play in them btw)

on my classic it had a bad whine for ages and i looked at rear bearing but no play so thought cant be that,cut long story short it was wheel bearing that was whinning it t**s off and had no play at all.
