As some of you know i had some warranty work done on the car because of piston slap.

Started the car up yesterday afternoon and left it ticking over for a few minutes, while i was getting some stuff together.

When i came out i could smell buring oil, and i went round to the exhaust and there was the dreaded blue haze coming out of the exhaust.

I took it for a five mile run and stopped up afterwards and went and had a sniff, i could still smell burning oil .

What the f*** have they done to my car, i have run it in gently for 1,000 miles, and havent even put my foot down yet!!

Any ideas?

Cheers

this is a long shot, but they could have used the same piston rings. These been worn originally may be letting oil through.

then i could be wrong.

Get back down to the dealer quick smart m8. Don't leave it a second longer.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Unhappy

Just got back from the dealers and it seems very strange.

Before i left to go there i left the car ticking over for 10 mins with no sign of blue smoke.

Got to the dealers and they put it on a gas analyser with me present (ticking over for 5 mins and fast idle for 2 mins), and said it was running well with the levels being very good considering it's a de-cat.

I went in the car with them and a select monitor, and everything was in order.

It was definately smoking yesterday when it was ticking over, but today nothing, could it be breather pipes or some oil in the intercooler.

Could it be the fact that i changed to Motul 300v when they carried out the work and service (around 900 miles ago) and it is cleaning stuff?

Very weird

Any more help would be grateful.

Cheers

Thumbs up

They might have got oil on the exhaust, or some where else that has now burnt off?.
Just a thought.
Cheers.
