What I am searching for is good low down and mid response, faster turbo spool-up, less lag, torque and of course safety for my engine. In one word Driveability. Which one fits my requirements of the above as I don't understand any difference between the three types? Between I have been suggested to buy the VF28. As I understand changing the turbo with a known VF series gives at least lower intake air temp, which is good for engine protection especially in our climate, and improves the capability of producing more HP or/and Torque with same boost targets. Does this mean is easier to "break" the engine with standard ECU-Intercooler than with the original TD04?
My car is a MY2000 PPP with Magnex downpipe and I am waiting for an APEXi AVC-R in order to set my turbo pressure about 1,1 bar through 2500-5000rpm. Any help would really appreciated!
JIM

11 bar... That is serious boost on a VF turbo.

I get 1 bar at around 3000 rpm with my linked VF24 (euro MY00), 1.3 around 3500, depending on load.

Jim, check out the MRT link on Scoobysnacks thread

I think you'll find all three of these turbos are virually identical.

take a look at the following link www.mrtrally.com.au/shop/

go to the under bonnet section for turbos, gives you some idea what to expect.

Question

I have seen it and AFAIK the VF24 is a replacement product for the VF29 when STI uses it in V5-6. What is then VF28 and why it is supposed to be better while the other two are more famous?

Jim,
Ask Pat on e-mail, he will tell u VF22 with p18 housing (dieseld do them if u quote me!)or the older mitsu turbine of MY97 but with moddede intake. Thats what he told me then but e-mail him with this exact q. MRT told me that the P18-Vf22 is similar specced with the VF30 but the VF30 is a bearing turbine so expect more lag.
