Default Need a clutch, what are my options?

Clutch starting slipping tonight so will be looking at a replacement asap but what options do i have.

Standard vs Aftermarket. Is it cheaper to go aftermarket/performance rather than genuine?

Car is a 2004 wrx blobeye.

Got a price on a LUK one, £176. Does that sound reasonable?

Speak to API, they will keep you right.
While the clutch is out, have you thought about doing the flywheel aswell.

Is that essential? The clutch judders quite badly and has just started to slip. Will the flywheel need replacing? Is it possible to skim it?

Also, are classic/bugeye clutches the same as blobeye ones?

Just found this one on ebay >>> SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO UK & IMPORT EXEDY ORGANIC CLUTCH on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 11-Dec-08 09:31:17 GMT)

Just from experience when I changed my clutch. The flywheel had a few cracks in it. So I fitted a lightened one which I bought 2nd hand from one of the forum members.
Also keep an eye out in the for sale section, as there is always someone breaking a scooby.

As I said speak to David at API, they do all the stuff you need and there advice is free.

Hallo -o

We supply an Exedy that we import direct from Japan via APi Japan. Thus we avoid the problems that some are experiencing with internet and Ebay clutches which look like the real thing, but seem to behave like they were bought at Woolworths......
Once a clutch starts to slip it blisters the face with hot spots which have a different friction value to the rest of the face. Judder!.

We offer a lightweight, refaced, original flywheel exchange as part of our package.

We keep OE STi spec as our lowest grade at £220.00 + VAT and a flywheel is £150.00 VAT exchange. Carriage for both will be £16.00 +VAT to most UK mainland postcodes.

Call me if I can help, remenber, you always get what you pay for.

David APi
