Default 2005 WRX, Which gearboxes fit?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

But, what gearboxes will fit my 2005 wrx?

Will older gearboxes fit, im looking at recon'd RA boxes and WRX boxes.

But thought I had better check that I dont need a specific box for the New age Impreza..

Will any of the 5 speed boxes of the turbo Impreza's fit, or will i need one from a new age? or from a blob eye specifically?

Any help would be great!

Thankyou!

Will.

if you look at the code on your box and get a box with the same code it will be a straight swap. if you get a box with a different code then i think you have to change the prop shaft and rear diff. If you look at the gearbox under you bonnet the code is normally to the left or right where it connects to the engine. Also the older shape impreza's gearboxes are weaker. best off sticking with a newer one. I broke my original wrx box at just over 40k but thats with a fair few drag racing events at 360bhp and didn't break until i got it to 425bhp and thats about 360lbs of torque which is the real killer. Its really how you drive which can kill a box. since i broke my box and fitted another wrx box in i have just driven it light as i know if i give it hell it will chew it to bits. hope that helps

Is your WRX 2000cc turbo or 2500cc turbo?
Reffering to catalogue, your WRX has its own gearbox.
Transmission assembly, Subaru IMPREZA ? Subaru parts catalog
Transmission assembly, Subaru IMPREZA ? Subaru parts catalog
But as I suppose, you may use a gearbox from a car with a same engine block WRX or STI. Those ones should hold the torque.
Follow the links to see which models were build with this engine block.
2500cc: Block set-cylinder, 11008AA950 ? Subaru parts catalog
2000cc: Block set-cylinder, 11008AA270 ? Subaru parts catalog
Good luck =)

We have the right box for your car in stock. It is a low [ish ] mileage one that belongs to a customer that we have just done a 6 speed conversion to.

Call me if we can help you. We are only at Southam -12 miles from Daventry.
