Default How hard Clutch Change

Hey All. My 06 WRX just started slipping and I would like to replace it my self. My question is how hard is it and should I know anything before doing it. I have lots of skills and have done this on older cars not not Scoob.

Well took my MY95 classic in for a clutch change today and accordingly to change the clutch you need to remove the following;

Intercooler, downpipe, driveshafts and a couple of bits here and there, not sure on the newage tho, hope that helps a little!

I thought it was either engine out or drop the box with a transmission jack/fully equipped four poster on a classic?

Well this gives me a bit of help. I am sure there will be lots of swearing but I swear more when I have to pay someone to do it for me.

hi mate,
just done one on my v5, not bad at all, done it in bout 6 hours, and it was my first time. i reckon if i was to do it again, i could do it in bout 4 hours easily.
i would stress that it is far easier if you've got someone to help you though.
i done it with the car on axle stands, no probs.

use search clutch theres a couple posts, one guy lists all the things you have to do, he says taking out the tran is easier then engine out. You need a clutch in linement tool. I hear some parts are very very heavy.
