more power to rear
#3
Power? Convert it to a 2WD.
If you want a different torque split, you need to change you centre differential. A DCCD would be a waste of money, if you wanted more torque to the rear, you would run it open as when you start locking it up it goes to 50:50 split.

Thats why a DCCD isn't a waste of money. Running it open gives you 65% to the rear, as opposed to 50% that the car has at present.

Its a gearbox out job, you need any DCCD centre and transfer case from a 5 speed, the 6 speed one won't fit. Then its a simple process of swapping the transfer cases over, a specialist will take longer to remove the box ove r swapping the centre diffs. Because your car has a 1:1 ratio centre diff the DCCD is a direct swap, no need to change rear diff etc.
The DCCD will run open without its seperate ECU which is fine and TBH I run mine open 99% of the time anyway. You can source the OE controller / ECU / dash lights for a full conversion, or you can purchase something like a Neetronics controller that will do the job too. But fundamentally you don't need either to run the car, it defaults to open.
