Red face Automatics

***First Post***

My friend took me out a run in his Subaru last night (my first time in a scoob) and all I can say is WOW!!!!! It was bloody amazing!

So obviously the first thing I did when I got home was start searching the net for one!

Imagine my dissapointment at the lack of automatics (I can only drive auto as my left leg doesn't work anymore after a bad crash)

So far all I've seen is the classic shape and most of them are wagons (really don't want a wagon)

I absolutely love this shape

Would love one of them in white with anthracite BBS

Do they make this model in automatic?

What like are the automatic impreza's (any shape) to drive? Still Fun????

I'll prob think of more questions soon!!!!

Thanks!!!

oooooooooooooooooooooooooook

How much work would be involved in converting this model

2005 Subaru Impreza GX SPORT AUTOMATIC Blue on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 30-Sep-08 13:15:28 BST)

to turbo????

Any reccomendation on somewhere that could carry out the work? (Preferably in Scotland)

I have a white 4-door classic WRX Auto which runs circa 280Bhp (220 standard).

It has been tuned with a Link ECU, chargecooler, full exhaust, Recaro interior, uprated brakes etc.

It is pretty quick and although slower from a standing start than a manual, it is still faster than 99% of the other cars on the road but in-gear acceleration is this car's forte.

At any legal speed, put your foot down hard, the gearbox kicks down straight into boost and the car REALLY takes off...

If you don't have any joy finding an auto in your preferred shape, maybe an automatic EVO is an option ?

Thanks

Gavin

Hi Gavin!

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Your car sounds alright (Love white but I imagine it's a bitch to keep clean)
I had considered the Evo but I heard it's even dearer to service than the scoob!

Life would be easier if I could drive a manual!!!! :P

You could try one of the New evos with the SST system, that way you could have a clutchless manual.

even as standard our auto wagon was more than quick enough to keep up with normal road traffic , my only complaint was the small slanty intercooler ,you could fry an egg after a good high speed/hot day run

You don't have to go for a front mount....

Fitting a RS Legacy air/water chargecooler to a WRX

Thanks

for reliability yes you do,that water cooled gizmo looks all very impressive but look how many parts there is to it....somewhat unreliable as opposed to a FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER which is basic and effective in all conditions.
