Default grinding 4th-5th

on a newage sti, ok at normal speeds but at high revs as title, syncro?

i had this on my 03 mate,at 6-7k on fast gear changes .was the syncros and cos i left it for a year it damaged the gear itself so ended up costing more so my advice is get it sorted sooner the better try api

i had simular problem with mine, changed the box oil to castrol syntrax and it seems to have cured it but as said above it could also be syncro on the way out.

I would go for Redline Heavy Duty shockproof gear oil - it might sort this out - did on my old P1.

^ i tried this on mine and made the problem worse , i use the castrol now and i rate it

Had conversations with Zenperformance and the OIl man...recomendations were use the Castrol if it does not cure then use the RedLine Oil...Redline oil as a last resort but one of the two should cure the issue..

castrol did for me..thoug i was crunching when shifting into 3rd..

Castrol castrol castrol. Has always improved the shift and eliminated any crunches in every scoob I have owned.
