Change clutch before it slips?
I read recently that is a good idea to change a scooby clutch if it has done a lot of miles and the bite point is high as, if it is left until it slips, it can mark the flywheel and require it to be skimmed. Anyone any experience or thoughts?
On previous cars (non scoobys) I have always left it until the clutch begins to slip before changing it, and quotes for new clutches have been around £500+ for mine. I have a 2000MY Classic UK Turbo which has done 115K miles although lots of that was on motorways, and it's still on original clutch!

No point in changing it until it starts to slip. You will need a skim or new flywheel anyway when the clutch is replaced. My classic did 130K before it needed a new one (again mostly motorway).
