Default Rear Diff Oil

i have the R180 rear diff and going to give the car a full service but wanted to know the best oil for the rear diff its a 97 STI RA

I need to know as well, what is the best oil for a R180 diff?

Hi, i sell the oil for R180 diff if intersted PM me.you need about .7 to .8 of litre.

I've always used Silkolene Boa 90 LS for Impreza rear diffs with LSD's

if you guys know the figures please let me know so that i can check i have the right stuff in my RA diff too.

does the LSD work ok in the Plated diffs ??

The STD oil for the rear diffs (without a plated LSD) is Castrol Syntrax 75w90 (same as the gearbox).

The LS oils that are mentioned are for specifically for diffs that are plated.

A Std rear diff is a limited slip diff, but it's a viscous diff and therefore does not need filling with an LS oil.

so a 75W90 LS oil would be fine for a R180 Plated diff?
