Hi all, can anyone hazard a guess at whats wrong with my car...?

When sitting with my foot on the throttle just cruising at about 2k rpm there is a faint whining noise, and when coming off the throttle there is a rattle followed by a scraping/dragging noise. Nothing severe but its definetly there. My mate suggested it could be something like prop shaft bearing etc, but it now turns out he's so busy he cant get a good look at it till next week.

Was just wondering what everybody thinks?

i had a similar sort of thing but the whine was quite loud, turns out its the centre diff,


getting all sorted now though, just cant wait to get it bak.

sorry, no it was a while ago but, i think iv got the same problem aswell,shawn r if you dnt mind me asking how much was it to replace/repair the centre diff?????, and terzoalan was yours the diff in the end.

Hmm my gearbox has been doing that for a while, usually in 3rd. Does it stop if you push the gear leaver to the left or right?

dont make any difference to mine, mine only makes the noise when in gear, think it sounds worse in first and second,
