Exclamation clutch pedal going slack on full power

When i put my foot down press clutch to change gear the pedal goes really slack and easy and sometimes not returning to proper position but only when driving at full boost and revs are quite high. driving normally the pedal is ok. Had a new clutch in lasy year so dont think its the clutch. Any ideas please post

Been there with a lot of others.
1
Bleed the clutch correctly by compressing the cylinder into the slave with a small clamp and replace current fluid with DoT 5.1
2
If prob still persists, get under the car and check if BOTH location dowels are in place, one on the left and other on the right as you stare at the eng of the engine.
I had one of mine after a clutch change fall out when I had the fight with the box getting it back in. That was the actual cause in the end.
The box will not be aligned correctly and the thrust bearing bore was catching on the gearbox input shaft sleeve.

Come back if you need more because there is a 'step 3' if still a prob!

Had the same problem after replacing the clutch on my car. The problem didn't go away until I had a new slave cylinder fitted.

Have a similar problem. Did you get this fixed? And if I can be so bold, was 911 right?

911 has his head screwed on... Mine was caused by the flywheel bearing being pressed in at an angle so the gearbox input shaft was binding (when the last garage changed the clutch), but I noticed a dowel was also missing when changing the block.... Hrad driving always used to get the pedal to stay halfway down.
No-one's mentioned the return spring under the intercooler... Make sure that's present on the end of the fork-arm....

Start by checking the clutch lever spring is actually in position.
It is amazing how much effect the simple little spring being disconnected can have.

Amazing how weird it can be when you forget to fit the spring or if the end is not properly located and subsequently springs off.
Take 100 lines or a slap on the wrist.

Not sure what it is. All the springs and the pedal side of things has been checked. Off back to API in a couple of weeks for a look again.

Right .. found out that that the problem is purely down to high revs, not the torque or power when you accelerate hard.

Even if I cruise very gently up to 60mph in 2nd (no hard driving or boost) as soon as I get over 5500rpm the pedal is soft when I change up to 3rd and the bite point is right at the bottom of the pedal travel. Sometimes the pedal sticks when coming up.

Makes me think this is the problem

Where is 911 when you need him?

OK I remember all that stuff now you mention it. I think in the end Graham [ 911 ] decided it was his own error when fitting that had got him in trouble.

I guess that it is possible that the spring has weakened and it is not locating properly. We'll have to see once we fish the box out .

Check the spring first. I had exactly these symtoms and was resigned to taking the box out on the STi 6 Wagon. Spring not connected. I think one end was not home when it was fitted.
You may find the wrong spring has been used or it is slack for some reason.
5 minute job and I could not believe the return to "normal".
