Autobox problem...I think !
I have a 1998 Forester T/tb import with the autobox.
I have a suspicion that whatever sensor/switch controlling the autobox gearchange is playing up again. A while back it had to be reset as the car would not exceed 4500rpm in 2nd (D) without kicking up into 3rd. Foot to the floor made no difference. It was reset and all was OK, foot to the floor and it would stay in 2 in D until pedal pressure was released.
Now I rather think that it is beginning to do this again, sometimes it will exceed 4500 and other times not.
So, is this sensor/switch/whatever a cleanable item...or....a sealed replacement jobbie ... and...where is it ? Is it external to the engine/autobox or an internal working bit ?
Service and fluid changes are up to date and car now has 80k on the clock. There are no other engine/gearbox issues/problems at all.
I'll put it in next week for a code read but some extra info would be helpful.
Thanks
