Question

I've got the full Scoobysport system, but I really want it louder,
Ive seen a box which i think was a HKS 1, from what I can remember it had a rainbow type effect finish on the tail pipe.

Are these any good ??

I dont mind the pipe being bigger, but it would be nice to get 1 thats fully polished from the back pipe to actual join to the centre section, just think it would give the car a little more tinkle.

Tell me what you think.

If I do decide on 1 mine will be up 4 sale & its only 6mnths old.

I think you're referring to Andy Tang's HKS Hiper Ti muffler (or something like that).

AIUI the Scoobymania system is polished all the way along too.

Graham stocker went from a full SS system to a Hyper Titanium and he says its much louder and made the engine feel a bit freer.
Also think that the BPM??? stuff is very loud

Cool

Right, thanks all, these Titanium ones, where can I get one from.

I will want to pick it up myself, cos I dont trust mail order, and does anyone know of a place in ESSEX I can buy 1 from.

I keep hearing Scoobs go past my house and they all sound louder than mine, so I really do want it louder outside as someone asked
but I do realise the louder it is outside the louder it will be inside,

I dont care cos I love it

So what sort of price are these babies (Backbox only) and is one of them going to match up to a Scoobysport Centre peice??

Thanks all

Thanks for that Mega, I have the Scooby Sport Mid section, i think this is a 3" pipe or am i wrong, but does that still mean I have to buy both parts from Hyper.

Thanks

Dunno M8, I'm 99% sure the SS is only 2.5". The Hiper is 3", it did fit my SS downpipe which is 2.5".

The Hiper comes with a mid pipe and backbox, the pipes arn't stainless but are carbon coated steel, so although they don't last as long as stainless steal, who wants to keep the same car for 20 years anyway.

Have you seen a Hiper close-up? They exit the car at an angle, as the pipework follows the straightest line out as possible, this is why I don't think any other mid is gonna fit.
Makes things a real pain in the butt come MOT time, not looking forward to that, as I'm going to have to put the whole original system back on

Well worth it though, looks great, sounds the DB's aswell

Gotcha, I think this route is going to be a problem cos my original was dumped, and to get me through an MOT ive got to go back to Scooby.S.

Would you know of any others that might meet up with my Scooby mid section and give it a bit more GRUNT.

Thanks M8

I reckon you'll be hard pushed to get a louder backbox thats gonna fit standard pipes..backboxes do vary from system to system as to the noise they kick out, one guy had a SS backbox that was as loud as full SS system I've heard!

My advise is wait till it gets hotter and drive with the windows down , or get someone to drive your car past you, you'll soon realise just how loud yours sounds from outside

BPM twister mk3 fits my standard centre section (2.5") although the backbox is 3".

My car is still in the bodyshop so i haven't heard it yet, just fitted it. I believe its quite loud

It exits straight out, not at an angle, which i prefer.

Hi Paul,

LOL, bet your family/neighbours don't though

I fitted it, but resisted the temptation to start the car, so i still haven't heard it!

I'm going to wait till the car is ready

How did you resist not starting it!! I couldn't have done that!

I may see if I can swop my (your) SS BB for something with a little more volume.... maybe HKS or another TW3.

How long until your car has been mended?

What in the hell is going on inside that BPM back box? hahaha...I like it...Just haven't read much as to what in the world it is...Quite interesting looking. Maybe I should look into these instead of the Nur Spec...

The things that look like turbines don't spin, they rotate the air, which is supposed to force the it from the pipe at a faster rate.

The BPM TW3 is a top quality peice of kit, it has NO packing, so, be warned - THEY ARE NOT FOR THE SHY!

Very good top end power increases

The exhaust pictured above was fitted to my car for about three months, the sound is fantastic and I miss it a great deal

I am looking for another one now.....

Cheers

I'm still fumbling around with what I want to do...Mind is still stuck on the Nur Spec, heheheh. However, instead of getting the Nur Spec R, I'm thinking of getting a de-cat pipe to get rid of the 3rd cat (Stromung maybe?) and just getting the Nur Spec back box when I can afford it...

Scoby

The Titanium is just a HKS Hiper with a fancy tip.
I changed my SS system a few months ago to a Hiper, much louder and car pulls stronger.

The Hiper has a totally different angle to other systems though, so it comes with mid and backbox, unless anyone can tell me otherwise a standard centre section wouldn't fit the Hiper backbox (apart from it being 3" pipe it won't line up)

Have a look at DRM or BRD for prices, don't know of anyone in Essex, but BRD are in Richmond.

John
