V6 R/RA drivetrain to early WRX
Are original early wrx drive shafts and propshaft direct fit to version 6 R/RA gearbox and rear diff? I suppose the rear diff is R180 -type in version 6? Or do I need shafts and hubs etc...

I think the V6 RA had the R160 diff.
The type R v5 v 6 had the R180.
IF this is the case then the prop is ok, but you may still have driveshaft probs as the RA diff is a plated unit and the WRX is either open or viscous rear.
The shafts are different.

He has racks of half shafts to select from.

So either way if the rear diff is R180 or R160 I will need rear drive shafts?
How about the gearbox? Does it fit to early wrx/gt drive shafts?
I'm planning to change front diff ratio from 4.444 to 3.9. Is there any subaru where is 3.9 rear diff? Then I could keep the dccd. Otherwise I'd have to change the transfer ratio from 1:1 to 1.1:1 to match my 3.545 rear diff and no dccd then for me.. Or is there a way?

UK gearboxes are 3.9.
The front shafts will fit
The R180 uses very rare sized driveshafts AND hubs to suit.
R160 simply need a different set of 'easy to find' shafts.

Is there a way to figure out that a rear diff has really 4.444 ratio? I'm getting strange noises from drivetrain and also lots of shaking when going over 70mph. The gearbox is version 6 type-R closeratio DCCD and reardiff is supposed to be R160 4.444. I dont have DCCD controller yet, so the gearbox is running in open mode.
