crunching when changing from 1st to 2nd???

crunching when changing from 1st to 2nd???
i have just changed the gearbox in my sti 2 555 and have used a 98 impreza turbo box now it is back on the road after i put new oil in i have noticed a crunching from 1st to 2nd maby it could be the oil i cant think what i have used at the moment but will find out tommorow and i have also not changed the diff could this play a part in it????

if you've changed the gearbox mate it could just be somethign as simple as the linkages not lined up right mate
look there first b4 trying anythign bigger
im not saying uve not done the job right in the first place
but a good place to start
