returned back to the subaru fold with an 03 sti ppp 6 speed. (1 year absence prior to that my96 turbo)

ive had the car 2 weeks -justcompleted a 1300 mileburn around the scottish highlands to get familiar with the car.

i have always noticed the vox is quite notchy up and down shifts.

noticed on several occasions when changing from 5th to 6th at illegal speeds, an occasional crunch was heard this was after 400 miles of continuous driving.

also when i change gear the revs rise a touch - could this be surge from ppp remap.
I Keep thinking it is my crap clutch to accelerator foot synchronizing.

i also now ensure that i depress clutch hard to the bulkhead.

i'm getting abit paranoid that i've knacked synchros - but the car has only done 23000 mils.

my last scooby had pudding stick gears incomparison.

the only saving grace i have 1 year extended warrenty.

So after all the writing,

1.are my sycnchros shagged
2.is my clutch on last legs -no slip though
3. is this normal
4. claim warrenty


apart from that- the cars awesome - best 1300 miles driving of my life.

i would send some car in scotland pics but i don't know how to!!!!!!

As no one has replied, i must assume that this must be a one off.

Took to local Franchise in Doncaster- who confirmed 6th gear synchro is on the way out.

They have had no history of this in their 3 years - of this franchise opening.

Fortunately - i have the Subaru extended warrenty - so - no problem financially.

To be sorted September 4th.

just turned 25,000 - all the other gears are fine -bizarre

Mines been in for synchros but was 4th gear and it's an 03 with under 30k.
Still quite notchy even after a full rebuild but have been assured its fine.

both boxes must have been assembled by the same guy on friday afternoon.
