Can anyone provide or direct me to the proper equations for calculating piston acceleration, particularly in EJ motors? Correct acceleration numbers for EJ20 and EJ25 motors also welcome.

I built myself a neat little excel sheet which will do piston acceleration, as well as all the other forces and moments associated with an engine - I used to use it to do engine balance calculations when I worked at Cosworth.
If you want I'll email it to you - if I can find it.
Incidentally, I've been meaning to put the Impreza figures in, to calculate load on the big end bearings, to add to the big end bearing thread.

I left in June 1998 (joined in 95) - but I was in road engines, not race.
Bought the Impreza 2 years ago - when I was at Cosworth I had a blue Supra turbo.
