Default classic wrx clutch problem

i have a my98 classic wrx. The problem is when i hit boost the rev counter goes all over the place where the clutch is slipping. The clutch is fine when you pull away so i dont really no what the problem is.

any ideas

if i did need a new clutch how much would one be non fitted

thanks a lot

when you hit boost the engine makes far more power/torque and this overcomes the worn clutch............................

sounds like you need a new one, would advise you get it checked

Cheap and good? LOL usually don't go together. Are you going to fit it yourself? I like Exedy and ACT clutches myself.

Probably 225mm ( on a non STi classic ).

All being well probably under a day, often half a day ( if no seized nuts, 'box comes off the engine etc. ). It's heavy!

I think that 225 is UK turbo, 230 is JDM and the larger for later cars with 6 speed?
