Default Exhaust fitting Q

Hi

I bought a H and S decat dowpipe and centre section and also a Afterburner angled backbox for a classic. My question is will fitting all three parts be straight forward, or will any welding be required? I was going to get a mate who owns a garage to fit it (hes more than competent) but if its going to be a b**ch of a job ill take it to an exhaust place.

Cheers for the help

If the current DP has never been off before beware!
The nuts/studs on the turbo can be a real b to undo.

I would never take an Impreza to an Exhaust Centre. Stick with your friend and help him.

As Graham said there is a possibility of seized nut/studs, esp. at turbo end..!
Be prepared to have to cut of any offending nuts so make sure you have a few spares to hand..!

If not done already, it's well worth wrapping the downpipe (centre not so important, although I did mine) in some descent heat wrap before it goes on then spraying it with some hi-temp engine paint to prevent it getting wet and smelling like a dog.

Another question folks... On my H and S dowpipe there is hole, presumably for something to get screwed into. My question is what is this for, is it the cat sensor? lambada sensor?

I read somewhere that the hole may need to be blocked off, but then why would H and S bother putting it there?

Lambda sensor goes in that hole fella, Subaru cant make thier mind up where to put the sensor so it's put in by by H&S by default, that way it fits all models!
