Classic TMIC upgrade

Classic TMIC upgrade
Have a UK97 classic - currently running about 240bhp on TD04.
Next upgrade I'm expecting about 260bhp but eventually I think I'll be maxing out the TD04 ie 270 - 280bhp.
I have picked up that a standard TMIC becomes a limiting component. Is this true ? Is there a TMIC upgrade I should consider?
£ is a factor of course but even if I over shoot my power plans I will not be going over 300bhp/ftlb (TD04 will be slightly modified ) as I simply can not afford to change my gearbox, so ideas for a TMIC for about 280bhp on a TD04 please ?
Many thanks
Clint

Hi Clint
I am no expert so pls dont take this answer as written in stone.
But..I have recently been asking about having my UK98 Classic mapped/setup with the APEXI Power FC. Apparently best case scenario I could possibly hit up to 280bhp!
Please note: I do already have an aftermarket panel filter and full decat.
As I say that is best case, however but the point I am making is that its all with the stock TMIC, fuel pump and solenoid...
Cheers

Molds - my fuel system will be uprated and I get the feeling a TD04 makes things quite hot at 270+ so standard intercooler may need upgrading, for safety if not more gains.
Adam M - standard is tmic not fmic ?!

About to change my td04 for a td05fe.....have purchased a bigger intercooler as i thought the larger turbo would need a bigger intercooler to cope with the heat increase, but seems i was wrong,as the td05 will geneate less heat than the td04 due to being less stressed..... so if you plan to max out the potential of the td04,i think an intercooler upgrade might be wise
pretty sure a definative answer will be forthcoming shortly

so used to writing fmic.
You can get 300 easily on the standard tmic, including the early slanted intercooler from the version 1 and 2!
I have seen 350 on the standard version 3,4,5 and 6 tmics.

OK Adam
I was just picking up from other threads that the charge can get a little too hot when you are pushing the turbo to it's limits.
I understand the charge temp will be lower from the TD05 / bigger turbos in general as it is not working so hard for a given power / flow level as the TD04, this is why I was thinking an intercooler upgrade might be advisable as I'm thinking the TD04 is going to be flat out at 280 bhp.
It's not that the IC is going to be limiting power as such, but it may not be capable of cooling the charge enough and therefore leading to det and a poorly engine.
