Default Euro Import DCCD

I'm getting a MY05 STi Euro Import but unfortunately it doesn't have DCCD. Is it possible to get it fitted? Would I have to change the diff at all? Any help appreciated!

Anything is possible, but its not going to be cheap.

You would need to check what rear diffs your car has to know if that needs changed. The DCCD is the centre diff, so you'd need one of those. Then you'd need the ECU and possibly the wiring loom and maybe some sensors (ECU monitors acceleration, abs and iirc G force). Buttons for the dash and to do it properly a set of clocks (Speedo, revs etc) from a DCCD car to show the diff lock as I think the newage cars still have this.

I thought that dccd was standard on all 05 STi's?

No on euro import cars it was an option (about 1K cheaper from memory).
Can remember seeing cars from Motorpoint, et all with non DDCD STi's.

Mega! Thanks for your info but not what I wanted to hear. Oh well, looks as though I'll keep it the way it is.

Cheers Dave

Mervil,

Another thing you probably don't want to hear. You will get hit come re-sale time if its not got it. Might be worth seeing if you can cancel your order and get an STI with it fitted.

Just my opinion.

Dave.

Well, I'm paying 15k for it with 4000miles. I'm plannin of keeping it for a while anyway, the classic I have now I've had for nearly 4 years. I value your opinion Dave otherwise I wouldn't have asked. I think I'm getting a good deal TBH. I'll test drive a car with DCCD and see what the difference is as I've only driven a 22b with it on.

Good luck making your mind up

Sounds like a good deal, I'd just hate to hear you in 3 years time saying you've only been offered peanuts for it

Good idea to test a DCCD car, it does make a difference - BUT only if your driving style suits it or your prepared to re-learn stuff. I should know I went from a UK classic to a 22b and I am still slower than I was in the UK after 3 years (I take my time learning stuff). Good fun though

Dave.

Id not touch an MY05 without A-DCCD as you wont be able to sell it or the resale value will be like zero.
A-DCCD is a factory fit option, it would cost you more than the difference between prices to have it fitted, it makes a difference that you can feel, without it your throwing your money away.
Look around, either buy a MY03/04 JDM STi with A-DCCD or see if there are any cheap euro/uk STi's going with it, like i said, waste of money without and the dealer/seller will be laughing at getting shut of it.

Tony

PS, UK cars added 1k on the price hence they all came with A-DCCD.
