Question Urgent Help

I have overfilled the gearbox oil, is it the same oil that the front diff uses?? By this I mean is it using the gearbox oil or its own?

I am under the car (yes, at 11:45 PM!!) and see a drain plug which looks the right one - but not sure! Don't want to drain the diff oil!!

HELP!!

Pete

If I remeber rightly you cant overfill the gearbox oil. Once the oil starts to leak out of the filler plug above the drain plug then its full. Or did you fill it up via the dipstick hole?

If you know what volume of oil you put in you could suck a certain amount out of the dipstick hole.

It may be that you have to measure the volume and fill through the dipstick hole but don't quote me on that, I thought they used a two plug system like the rear diff.

Good luck
