Gearbox noise?
Heres the thing, when putting into fifth gear it crunches. Any ideas whats causing this. Is it the synchro from fourth to fifth? More so is it fatal to my 'box and any idea how much it will cost to fix. Our lass seems to reckon it makes the car sound more like the rally slag that it should be. Any help greatly appreciated, thanx.

most likely the synchro, however it could also be the cltch wearing or even just that you are "rushing" the change and beating the synchro..................

Its an MY94 WRX, never rush 4th-5th, not racing people. clutch seems fine, altho thinkin of uprating. Any idea on cost for re-buildin my 'box?
