On what? I had one fitted to an 02 WRX and I think it made the shift noticably more "positive" than the slightly woolly feel of the usual shift.

MOpdq

AFAIK the prodrive Quickshift I have on my MY02 would be the same for a MY05 WRX as well as I believe the gearbox is identical

I went for one as the gearbox on my MR2 had quite a short throw and wasn't used to moving the gearstick a lot ..........LOL

Improved things IMHO

MY02 is same gearbox as MY05. I have a B&M Racing one fitted to mine and works a treat making a lot of difference. A good car becomes better...

I like it, but after a year I have forgotten what the standard one feels like. Total movement (e.g. 3rd to 4th) is about 3", which can easily be done by just moving your two middle fingers.

Had quickshift on my MY01 WRX and it made a big difference.

Dealer (unusually) persuaded me that I wouldn't need it on my PPP STi MY05 and, after just a few days, I think I agree with him. Though 5th to 6th gear change is proving interesting I'm sure I'll cope.

BTW I'm sure it has a fuel leak

If the 05 STI gearbox and linkage is the same as the 02 STI, then I'm inclined to agree: the standard shift is shorter and crisper than the standard WRX one.

A lot - the official one is £300 not inc fitting. That's usually about another £100.
